Zermatt is situated in the Alps of Wallis, in the very South of Switzerland.

The train has a direct connection from Brig and Visp. After a 90min train ride through the romantic Valley of Visp you reach Zermatt.

On December 9th 2007 the new Lötschberg-Tunnel will be opened.  

- This means you get to Zermatt in 1 hour less than before! -

Coming from the international airports Zurich, Geneva, Basle, and Milan you are in Zermatt within only a few hours. Zermatt also has a heliport.

Zermatt is car-free. The access by car is only possible to Täsch. In Täsch there is parking available. From Täsch you get to Zermatt by train or by taxi.

Zermatt is well-worth seeing in the summertime as well as in the winter. Marked mountain trails lead you to the mountain forrests, to quiet Alp-lakes and to the higher located hiking trails. Many restaurants and Alpine huts spoil you with culinary specialties.
